ART

 I recently came across a song named "Frangipani" by singer "Mr.Kaber" in which he mourns over the death of his friend who was the light of his life.It's a song very different from the upcoming songs now. It's more of in a narrative style that's very slow raw and vulnerable and I loved it. What I also came across is that most people didn't like that song. But I would want them to put it in a different way instead of simply saying they dislike it.

I understand not everything is everyone's cup of tea. But art, art according to me exists solely for it's own sake. Art neither exists to impress anyone nor to please anyone. In fact there existed a movement during the Victorian period namely the "Aesthetic movement" which states that "Art for art's sake". Ofcourse people do have the freedom to have their own opinions. At times even I don't prefer certain type of music or art. But I would simply say that it didn't quite match with my vibe or preference instead of abruptly stating that I don't like that art.

I believe that any art form take it to be music, poetry,novel or what's so ever do not necessarily want human validation. Art is beautiful in it's own way without the judgements of human. One cannot and should not I believe hate on art without taking into consideration the pain and efforts behind it. Simply stick to saying"It didn't match my interests" instead of saying "I hated it ". Art exists for many things except to be hated upon.

A piece of writing that you judge could contain someone's entire world in it. Someone's pain, someone's fear, someone's insecurity and what not for art is the only way to escape from the misery we are put in. So next time you judge or reject an art I hope you pause and rethink.
